How Long Has York-Med been

York-Med was one of the first to enter into the EMR market in Ontario.
York-Med was involved in early electronic record projects like COMPETE,
Chatham-Kent’s Hosted Solution, and the transition of Ontario Community Health
Centres from paper to computerized medical records.
It has been over 10 years since York-Med first sold, trained, and implemented
EMR solutions in Ontario. Since that time York-Med has trained and implemented
an average of 2000 EMR users a year.
How Much Will the Physician
IT Funding Cost Me?
This may seem like a strange question, but we've
talked to Physicians who have received quotes from other vendors which in the
end will cost them over $20,000.00 over three years above the amount being given
by the government. This doesn't have to be the case. There are a few
vendors who price their products according to how much funding you are going to
receive and then some... York-Med is not one of these vendors. Our pricing
is fair, consistent, and does not change if you are funded. EMR
implementation can be quite affordable and stress free; at least it can be when
you work with York-Med.

At York-Med we encourage clients to tell us what would make the product
easier for them to use or more useful. Suggestions come in to us via many
different avenues; helpdesk, trainers, demos, or at our user meetings.
Once a suggestion is submitted York-Med reviews the request to ensure it is not
a functionality which already exists within the application. If it does already
exist, a trainer will contact you and review the ‘how to’.
All development ideas are managed by York-Med’s Director of Education & Product
Development, Lyse Penny.

Yes, users adopt the use of electronic medical records at very different
paces. York-Med has some clients who have no paper in their offices and use only
the electronic medical records, and we also have clients who just use a couple
of the components for their convenience and to save time in their daily
routines.
What is an ASP or Hosted
Solution and Does York-Med Provide Such a Service?
With a hosted or ASP delivery model you have no local server and all of your
data is stored at a secure centre offsite. With the local delivery model a
server is stored in your office and you are responsible for completing daily
back-ups of your data. Both delivery models allow for secure remote access from
within the office or outside the office.
Yes, York-Med offers Medical Desktop and the York-Med MD Suite (York-Med’s EMR)
both locally and within a hosted environment. There has been a great response
