Schedule of Benefits - JUNE 2008

Here is the newest SOB update from OHIP this file contains OHIP’s corrections on the Hospital service code fees.

These steps should help, but at any point if you would rather have the Helpdesk assist you, call 1-800-263-5853. Do not hesitate to call the York-Med Helpdesk Support Specialists to ensure you have the correct system requirements and settings prior to beginning the download.

At the bottom of the page under Document Download select Text Format

A page with a collection of letters and numbers will open up on your screen

Click on File

Select Save As & Change the document name to JUNSOB2008.001

(Remember to note where you have saved this file.)

Now Open Medical Desktop™ if it is not already open

Select Utilities & then Update Fee Schedule

This option updates the OHIP fee schedule. If your system has been configured for EDT, then Medical Desktop™ will automatically default to your EDT directory. In the “Update Fee Schedule” dialog please select the latest SOB (Schedule of Benefits) file. If your system has not been configured for EDT, Medical Desktop will default to the OHIP drive, as entered in the User Setup window.

Only the Service codes that are already in the system are updated, no new codes are added.

Upon selecting a file, you can also specify that the Direct and/or Third Party fee schedule be updated as well.

Be advised that for some Diagnostic codes, the General Fee does not equal the combined Technical and Professional fees. This is due to OHIP paying hospitals only 92.86% of the technical fee. If you use the General fees be sure to check that they are set to the correct amounts. Refer to the Schedule of Benefits for additional information.
